The Waiting List
Becketwood maintains a Waiting List of prospective Members. This provides a well-informed list of persons waiting for the opportunity to become Becketwood Members. Most units sell to people who are on the Waiting List through Becketwood Marketing.

To acquire a position on the Waiting List, you must complete an application and submit it along with a $3,000 deposit, which pays interest annually. This deposit can be applied to the purchase of a Membership when it becomes available. We see our Waiting List as a "win-win" proposition. If you decline when offered a unit, you still maintain your place on the list and your deposit is totally refundable at any time.

Equity Preservation

Historically Becketwood, a market-rate cooperative, has been a sound, equity-building investment for Members. The return of your investment dollars at resale provides financial security.

Repair and Replacement Reserves

Early in Becketwood's life, it was apparent that the community needed to plan for maintaining Becketwood in "like new" condition. As a result, a reserve plan was developed by the capital long-range planning committee. This plan covers repair and replacement at Becketwood in individual dwelling units, for the common areas of the building and for the exterior and grounds.

Individual units are eligible for refurbishment on a regular schedule with standard costs covered by the cooperative. Major replacements, such as buying a new van, are made on an "as needed" basis. The excellent planning that has been done minimizes the need for special assessments. Becketwood has well funded reserves.
